I wish I could add Vendors and Items on the fly. If the vendor does not exsist, I have to go to Vendors and add them.
I wish I could add Vendors and Items on the fly. If the vendor does not exsist, I have to go to Vendors and add them. Also I need to add a project number to each PO. Then be able to search on the project number and bring up all the parts used in that project. I like the program but it is missing the above feature I need.

Ah ok. The PO portion of your needs it seems we could satisfy, but unfortunately we do not expect to add abilities to add "projects" to our software in the near future...

Sorry about that. We are using Paradox. An employee set the whole thing up and it only runs in Win XP. I can export the data bases, customers, items, etc in a .db format or cvs. When creating the data base for items, he did not separate the part number from description. so the part numbers, usually after a # sign are included in the description. In order to work properly the part numbers would have to be extracted and put in a part number column. One of the guys, no longer here, used Access to separate by creating a query looking for the #sign then extracting the part number. The things we do with Paradox are write PO;s. Create items, Create Customers. Create Projects. Those are the data bases. What we do then is search by project numbers and bring up all the parts that were ordered. Search to do a cost on a project. Search by person to see what PO's they did. Search by part number to see who we ordered it from or cost. Since Paradox was a custom setup it has been very hard to find a program to do what it does without starting from scratch using Microsoft Access. This is the closes program I have found so far. Just need a few more extra things, like adding project database and being able to search projects, and a few things I mentioned above. I would not mind spending more for the program if it did more. You can use my email to respond. Phone 570-327-3015. AS I might have mentioned we use the PO feature more. Then send that to our purchasing department. They create a PO number and we fill in the correct prices after they did the ordering.

Hi,
Can you confirm what you mean by ability to convert current data to work in this program. Which program are you currently using? Part numbers could be separated out in Microsoft Word by delimiting the columns. Regarding search by Vendor Ref # - we do not store a vendor reference number in the program, so this wouldnt be something you could search on. There currently is the ability to search by vendor name in the PO section. -

ONe more please. Sorry. Can I search by Vendor Ref#? We also have to have the ability to search by who filled out the PO. I was thinking we can just use the Vendor Ref or can another field be added to the PO entry? We will be using the PO feature of this program mostly. Then send it to our purchasing office who does the actual order to the vendor.
So in the end if we could search by who placed the PO and by the project number that would be great.
Thank you for listening. -

Thank you, Will you contact me as soon as that is completed? I like how the program works, just need that added feature. I have 4 users that will be using the system. Nice program for the money. Also, do you have a service to convert our current data base of products to work in this program? Problem is who ever created our data base put the part number with the description and I do not know how to separate them to different fields, We had a worker who was able to do it with Microsoft office but he no longer is here. He did something with query and somehow was able to separate out the part number. I think he used the fact that before the part number we use the (#) sign.

Thanks for the suggestion. We can't guarantee if/when we will be able to complete this but we have logged it in our future enhancements list.
